Experience Princeton and Municipality Work to Keep Community Clean
Princeton, NJ — November 11, 2024: Let's keep Princeton beautiful! Experience Princeton and the Municipality are working hand-in-hand to keep our community clean and welcoming. Here’s how businesses can play a part:
- Keep sidewalks clean and swept. After visitors enjoy your outdoor space, clean tabletops and underneath tables and tuck in chairs to keep it inviting.
- Provide private trash containers for outdoor seating. This helps your customers avoid overflow in municipal bins and keeps shared spaces tidy.
- Avoid leaving trash or cardboard on the street. Remove waste promptly to help your business maintain an attractive appearance for passersby.
- Ensure that your trash cans have lids. Secured, leakproof trash bins help keep our streets clean for shoppers and prevent flyaway litter.
- Schedule trash and recycling pickups before 10 a.m. Make sure your waste vendor is aware of the timing guidelines to avoid getting a ticket.
- Be aware of potential new regulations. On Oct. 14, an ordinance was introduced to require garbage bins and recycling to be placed out no earlier than 6 p.m. the day before pickup, with empty containers brought in by noon.
