Pi Day Princeton 2024!
Every year the town of Princeton celebrates with irrationally fun events! Presentations by a recent Nobel Prize winner, Pie Judging Experience, tours and more! For the Einstein Look-a-Like and Pi Recitation contests, youth winners take home $314.15!
“Pi Day Princeton is a real treat for anyone who loves pi, pie and Einstein!” says Mimi Omiecinski, founder and coordinator for the delightful event. When asked how the event was started, Mimi credits the remarkable collaboration between Princeton businesses, nonprofit organizations, academic institutions and residents: “In 2009, various folks and I called in a ton of favors from shop owners, local officials, family and friends and created the first Pi Day Princeton, which attracted nearly 4,000 visitors! Over the years, crowds grew so large we had to move the events to various downtown locations. This year, major events are being held throughout various areas of downtown Princeton and the Princeton Shopping Center, including the very popular Einstein Look-a-Like & Pi Recitation contests and the Pie Judging Experience.
Mimi is quick to note the magic comes together because of the Event Partners, including: Princeton Tour Company, Princeton Public Library, Bill Agress, LilliPies, McCaffrey’s, Proof Pizzeria, the bent spoon, Princeton Shopping Center, Historical Society of Princeton, Princeton University & Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber & Princeton Convention Visitors Bureau.
Pi Day Princeton, celebrated in Princeton, New Jersey, was founded in 2009 by Mimi Omiecinski, who owns Princeton Tour Company, a full-service tour company offering Princeton walking tours, bus tours, ghost tours, and team building/private corporate events since 2007. She admits she is “strangely possessed” by All Things Princeton and never tires of celebrating the university’s/town’s unique history, architecture and fascinating residents. She began Princeton Tour Company as a fun way to spend her mornings; with the help of her world-class guides, it has grown and is rated the #1 Princeton Activity by Tripadvisor, AAA Magazine, The New York Times, The Washington Post and more.
