Princeton Community Pride Picnic 2023
The Princeton Community Pride Picnic is an annual event celebrating the town’s LGBTQ community. Now in its third year, the picnic celebrates difference in a family-friendly environment where all are welcome to be who they are. This year’s picnic will be on the Green in Palmer Square on June 3, noon to 3 p.m. and will include live music, art, games and other activities.
The picnic is part of the kickoff weekend for Pride Month in Princeton. The weekend begins with the annual Pride flag-raising ceremony at 1 Monument Drive on Friday, June 2 at noon, followed by a Pride Dance Party hosted by the Arts Council of Princeton at 8 p.m., 102 Witherspoon St.
We are very excited to be partnering with Palmer Square for this year’s Pride Picnic,” said Jennifer Podolsky, library executive director. “The picnic has been designed as a moveable feast, starting at the YWCA, then growing at Princeton Shopping Center. We expect continued success with our neighbors in Palmer Square. More than just celebrating the LGBTQ community, the picnic is an important event because it supports our mission of connecting people with resources to broaden their understanding of our diverse community. The picnic plays an important role, particularly for young people, in fostering a sense of belonging for everyone in Princeton. We look forward to another successful event.”
The Third Annual Princeton Community Pride Picnic is sponsored by Experience Princeton (Gold Sponsor); Palmer Square (Venue Sponsor); Witherspoon Media Group (Media Sponsor); Joy Cards (Mainstage Sponsor); Princeton Public Library and McCarter Theatre Center (Silver Sponsors); and the Arts Council of Princeton, HiTOPS, Rylan Lott Photography and YWCA Princeton (Bronze Sponsors).
